I wonder if they would be better balanced to at least space out the bonuses. So, for example:
-initial yield: 1f, +1f if adjacent to a mountain
-adds +1p if next to freshwater with engineering
- changes +1f if next to a mountain to +1f per mountain with some other tech/civic (feudalism?)
That way, they're still a worthwhile yield even from turn 1, but you don't get the crazy yields until at least a little into the game. The fact that you can place a tile down by turn 10 with like a yield of 6 on top of the base terrain just makes it so insane.
