Paratroopers

Personally, I wish they had an advanced mech infantry unit after robotics or the first future tech that was like a mech suit... basically just up the attack value some and make movement equal over all terrain (like an explorer). hint hint to people who can make that sort of thing :goodjob:
hint hint to people who look ;)

No, the Bradley (which is what the MechInf is depicted by in the game) is a glorified troop transport. It has a light machine gun and maybe rockets. But they do carry a whopping six troops each to rapidly deliver them to the battlefield.

More than that--it's a true infantry fighting vehicle, with gunports for the troops inside. It carries a 25mm chain gun & a co-ax 7.62mm machine gun, plus TOW ATGMs, good for 3700m range, to take out enemy tanks. It carries a squad, although 3 of them are the commander, driver, & gunner.

The Stryker is the same basic idea, only more so.

I sometimes use paratroopers to pillage roads and such when I need the bombers elsewhere. And every now and then I build a lot of them and cut off reinforcements, however temporarily. Plus in the ensuing confusion of an invasion they make alright defensive units if infantry aren't around. And, of course they're good cannon fodder. As for helicopters, they make good quick fixes if I'm fighting over great distances or need to cross water and can't spare enough naval units.
I agree there should be some form of modern infantry, perhaps an upgraded combo of Marine and Para.
