Hired Goon
I don't know if anyone has done this, and I'm also not sure if this has been discussed already. I've been away on business and therefore away from my Civ3
A lot has been said about using population to build improvements, units, workers, etc. We all know niether workers nor money will help with a wonder, but I figure you can at least partially rush some of it - for a good head start.
With not penalty for switching production, I would think that it would be a good plan to build the most expensive improvement available with a population point and then switch over to producing a wonder. It could give a city a very nice "head start" if you will.
Further, if an expensive improvement becomes available, and is worth more shields than you currently have in the wonder, well it could be a nice boost to change over, finish it with a citizen, and then switch back.
Just a thought, and one that I'm sure is in practice already by some. Just wondering from those who might have tried this if it helps out at all.
