Passive-Agressive Only defence Domination

Strategy wize, AI useally send first settle protected by 2 warrior or an archer(some hanting starting tech). We need to think abot killing target AI first settler or as minimum grab worker. So, we need some mil build. Proabbly build a worker the same way I build settler(whipe city at size 4) and then connect some mil resource. Hopefully we get hourses somewhere. (Chariots probubly best units for the task).

Actially I change my mind. I Just noticed that red dot has hole, but blue dot, on cooper, does not.

Mountan will complite block after just one order expancion.

I build St. Petersburg on the copper - actually a very good idea beside of the blocking issue as we can start building an axe right away.
The city looks pretty good by itself due to silk and spices, both give 2F1P1C without any improvements.

Hinduiusm FIDL by the angry Korea man. I continue on poly nontheless to get judaism.

London finally manages to build a worker. our first axe is deployed to harass some american worker and/or settler as our second axe will be ready to capture an english settler. Too bad London won't be able to improve the corn as they can not reach it...
The americans will hopefully try to settle north of their capital as we can't check all positions.

The current situation at our capital. I marked our (possible) second city site. (if you want to remove the lines scroll out and choose the lefthand view option). 1NE of the cross are fishes. We need the wheel to connect horses as well as fishing to get the city to full production but i think there is plenty of time to try on judaism beforehand.

As there was nothing else mentioned i played 20 rounds.

(My) current plan: Research monotheism after masonry. Harass americans and english. Build horse city, get horses online.
Before we try Alexander we should check if he has copper, driving our first chariots into his palanges would do us no good :mischief:

Roster:
Mutineer
Slowcar
acidsatyr - up
shyuhe - getting ready.

I think propoused site is a bit too passive. We need to claim as mach land as posible, inconvinience as many civ as posible.

I would conside to drop city on stone down south and when massonry finished order Stonehenge there. Deny them it and hopefully claim a lot of land with it's culture. We do not need wanders in capital.

Research wize we probably need to research priesthood first, with max discount and make Monotheism cheaper. Pity I di not see marble anywhere.
We need to explore some more. We need to stck well some where.

Problem is, we need a lots of thinks.
1) claim as mach land as posible.
2) put pressure on choisen civ. (we would like to have chariots for that.)
3) deny wanders, especially cultural wander to opponent.

So, we need to try to kill more then one rabbit. and we will need some way to pay for our cities, which are all around the world.

i dont think its passive, on contrary it would block thier expansion toward south completely and they would have to settle crapy land north making our job easier.
BUT, i will leave more time for disscusion as i like your idea of not rushing this

AI take a long time to build galeys on this level. So, we can wait about english a bit. The same true about founding cities in jungle.
So, in my opinion we need to make life dificult on a bit more AI's first. By putting culturalpressure on them or by claiming as mach land a sposible and increase our culture and deny there culture.

As long as we can deny them military strength (guard copper for example) we can also deny them space to settle without actually placing a town there.

Thinking about the situation: Aztecs and english are already sitting on eachothers toes, we don't need to do anything there until they can manage to get galleys.

How about Oracle? We could build it very fast and get monarchy with it - our target is feudalism to get vassals. On the other hand CoL would be very beneficical as it allows us to expand - and we need to become as big as possible while denying our neighbours the same, right?

I absolutely rely on your evaluation mutineer, acidsatyr is not the only one that did not play prince for quite some time :)

heh, nether do I, just one my try game :)

We would not have research to get anything expencive from oracle, but something like COL is very good idea, Oracle itself = a lot of culture, col = 1 more religion.
Problem is, I do not see marble anywhere, but I do see stone.
I think it is a good plan to settle on stone and build stonehenge for now in that city.

But as I say, it is matter of priorities and at the end of the day current player would have to deside.

Pyramids and great wall could be very useful for us too. With representation we can culture push people with artists and still get research from it, and we have GE point source to rush a wonder or two in border cities.

Great Wall is overrated due to the nerf in warlords i think. Pyramids with stone are a possibility, Stonehenge is way cheaper though and if it is not already built we could assign the new-found stone city with it. I'd propose to try Stonehenge and follow up with Pyramids in the horse city. A GP would be fine to build a shrine, a GE even better to rush a wonder in a border city.

In my opinion the fish/horse/stone place near the capital is a very strong city that could build a wonder or two pretty fast (9P on size 3 with food surplus). And we need horses to get chariots online.
The floodplain city is still a possibility, but as long as we can keep the AI out of the area (kill settlers with our early axes, watch out for chariots though!) we can settle strategically more important places.

Building a blocking city or two at Alexs place would be a good idea if we can afford it. Even on prince city upkeep can be a problem as we can expand a lot faster than our ability to pay for new cities.

I don't see barbarians as a big problem, they can easily handled by chariots. Better to build a couple of chariots then a (nearly) useless wonder.
I rate Stonehenge and Pyramids higher, we can build both in the new city and expand from our capital whipping settlers.

There is not that many barb on prince. I am mach mroe in favor of cheap stonehenge and use GP to snach Cristianity.

once we get calendar, do monuments granted by stoneh. vanish or are still in the cities?

They vanish. Mostly useful to get some initial culture and GP-points. And to deny the wonder to the AI. It's very cheap so we can build it pretty fast (as can they). We can't build monuments if we have stonehenge but i don't think the +2 culture (once they are old) are that important compared to the +1 culture in all cities we get without building anything.

A Prophet would be nice to found another religion. And we should get a GS in time to pop Taoism.

I thought outdated obelisks still produce 1 culture? AI tech pace on prince is very slow (I'm doing a SG on noble and finding the AI tech pace to be horrid). Founding future religions shouldn't be too big of a problem, but we want to try to time founding new cities to religion founding don't we? (for at least the culture pushing cities)

can we slingshot feudalism off of oracle to speed up vassalizing? Or is that not really worth it?
