The patch appears to have been released - patched the Mac version to 1.0.1.166.

DLC I purchased Windows-side was downloaded and playable as well.

:) The patch is out!
:( PC-Mac multiplayer still doesn't work.

If you read gameagent's blog, they say there's "stability issues", and therefore it hasn't been enabled.

Won't be spontaneously added to Mac version. If you don't see it in PC, you won't get it on Mac.

And considering PC MP doesn't support 2 different saved MP games going on at the same time.. you've got a wait.

Um… still no in-game mod access???

The same fix as before works:

Open the following file in TextEdit or BBEdit or TextWrangler ...:

~/Library/Application Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/sid meier's civilization v/assets/UI/FrontEnd/MainMenu.lua

Line #35 reads:
" Controls.ModsButton:SetHide( true ); -- MAC_PORT - rickb Comment this line out to re-enable mods. Happy modding!".

Just insert '--' (without the quotes) right at the start of line #35, and save the file. Then restart Civ5 to get to the Mods menu option.

This file gets reverted each time a new patch arrives, so you have to re-edit it. I wonder if the Mods menu will ever be enabled by default on the Mac :dunno:.

The resolution bug (grey bar on right at super-high resolutions) appears to have been fixed--not in the patch notes as far I can see but appears fixed.

EDIT:
Red-faced, I now observe that the very 1st thing on the patch list is this very item!

Thanks for the fix ASPYR!

OK, I did the mod change above, and also trimmed the start of /Modding/ModsBrowser.lua so I could get the "Online" and "Downloads" tabs to appear. Hitting "Online" just spins forever without finding anything; do I have to do manual searches and downloads outside the game?

Patched the game via Steam... Go to scenarios... there is the Mongols. But I have previously brought the Mediterranean pack (voes for Steam selling it to me with the Mac version where it did not work) but cannot see it there at all. So whats up?

I don't think the online mods browser is implemented in the Mac version. Previous version of Civ5Mac have not been able to open the packaged mods that are distributed that way. I haven't checked this one, but my guess is that it can't do it either. That may be a key reason that the Mods menu still isn't enabled.

If you can get the .civ5mod file you want, you can install it manually by expanding it first. FAQ item #4 points to the thread where I described the process.

I'm still seeing red patches on the landscape. I'd say there are fewer, but they're still there. I'll try saving my 1 and only game as a new save under the current version to see if that works....
Those little patches are killing my immersion.

I was still seeing those in boot camp, too. I don't think a fix for them has been promised yet.

Yep, a new save over the old did nothing, as was the same for a complete new save...

The red dots are an artifact from the original PC code. Aspyr tech support sent me this email. This has also been addressed in another thread.

As I understand it, 2K hasn't fixed the problem on the PC side.

"Thank you for contacting Aspyr Technical Support!

The issue of red dots appearing randomly on the map is legacy (occurs within the original PC code from which the game is ported). We are currently working with 2K to address this and several other problems in an upcoming patch.

Feel free to contact us with any further issues or concerns.

Thank you,

Aspyr Technical Support"

I'm in Korea (English professor) and I have gotten this 'server is too busy' message for the past 17 hours. I just got this mac, I've already played the patched version on my old pc, and I've waited for this patch to come out to start a new game. I know what to expect but I want the darn thing just the same. hurry up and download already. anybody else stuck with this problem??

Sounds like you should contact Steam support. They're hosting the patch.
