Patch v1.61 Issues

Has anyone else noticed that cities frequently don't ask for or automatically start new production? It just goes to zero!!!(???) I'll be merrily rolling along and then realize that some city hasn't produced anything lately. When I look at the map, the production bar for the city is empty!! The domestic advisor screen shows it as producing (0)... Of course, I could look at the domestic advisor after each turn (right! )

I'm getting awfully frustrated with this problem. It crops up everywhere

There seem to be a lot of problems with this latest patch. I guess it truly is a "bug" patch... it's got the most bugs I've seen since I purchased CivIV!

In a word, no. Cities always ask for production orders when they finish all their queued products, and if you deliberately don't give them orders they'll ask again the following turn.

If this has only turned up with 1.61, make sure you've cleared out your cache and any pre-1.61 mods.

Not really. Almost exclusively the bugs I've seen reported as being caused by 1.61 are due to either old incompatible mods, or people who've been using cracks or pirate copies who've fallen foul of the new anti piracy measures.

I need help with an issue im having, would apprteciate any help. My issue is when I installed the 1.61 patch what happens is when i get the the CIV 4 splash screen the choices i have to load a game start a game advance options etc. etc. are missing . I can put my mouse cursor over them were they should be and select them that way, but I have to guess. I have an AMD 1.5G 512RAM NVIDIA GEFORCE MX 4000 128MB Im thinking that it may be my video driver. Any help would be appreciated....

For some reason, patch 1.61 installs directly into my C:Windows folder, not the folder where I have installed Civ IV. It does not ask me where I want it, nor does it seem to matter where I have the install file when I run it. Then if I try to use the new Civ IV, it won't let me, claiming it can't find all of its components. Thoughts?

Something is seriously f*cked up with your computer. Uninstall the game, then manually erase all game directories, reinstall, repatch.

If the patch cluttered game files into your system directory, the stability of the OS might be at risk, consider reinstalling windows... bummer.
