Hi,
I'm having trouble that sounds a lot like the current thread XP: InstallSheild tries to install the latest patch, fails, aborts installation, but I'm not sure it's the same (and didn't want to crash that thread)...
I got Civ4 Complete on DVD and have WinXP. Everything seemed to install ok. When I first ran BTS I checked for an Update and it downloaded Patch_319. When I run the patch, InstallShield comes up and asks a few questions, then says "hit Install to install the patch", then ... nothing. InstallShield closes and nothing happens. And BTS still wants to go out and get Patch_319 (even though I can see it in my Patch directory).
I'm not sure I'm having the same problem as the other thread (above) because this is a clean install of Civ4 Complete. However, I do have stand-alone Civ4 (and C4Colonization) on my disk from previous purchases. Also, I did not put Civ4 Complete in the default directory (it's on a different drive).
Do I still need to do all the steps Ori outlined in the thread above - and I imagine, for ALL my Civ4 games (new and old)?
Everybody tells me I need to move up from vanilla Civ4 to BTS. Sure hope I can!! - MK
