Is there a way to pause the game so that it stops the game timer. I have to leave the game running sometimes and it adds up to several hours by the time I finish the game and it doesn't accurately depict the actual time I was playing.

I was just wondering if there is a way to pause it. I dont think hitting Esc does it.

Thanks

I don't know of a way to pause the timer, but you could save the game and then reload it when you return.

No, just save it where you left off and leave the game running. When you get back to it, load and play.

Welcome to CFC, BTW. :)

Well, if you think about it, the game *is* paused because nothing will ever happen (unless you stop playing when you finish your turn because then the AI's turn starts and things will probably happen). It is not like a racing game where when you leave it, something crashes. ;) So if you leave it the only issue you might have is incorrect playing time.

In multiplayer, you can actually press the "pause" key on the keyboard to pause the game. Maybe that works in SP too?

Yeah, I usually just leave it at the end of my turn and then come back when I'm done my work, its just that the time played is wrong when I do finish.

The pause key doesn't work in single player, I already tried it.

Then you will have to get the schematic for your motherboard, find the pin on the Microprocessor that the system clock feeds into, cut the trace to the pin with an exacto knife, solder a bounceless toggle switch across the cut (with about 2 or three feet of wire so the switch can be accessable outside the computer).

Now you can pause your game.:D

That would prolly take you more time to do than playing one game.

Really now, it is probalby easy to make the SP pausable. I think that even some of our mods at CFC can do that if they wished. There is just no real need for it. ;)
