I don't mind if we start again. 
Can I also suggest to put player one as an A.I. or put player one as another human player and disband his settler as soon as the game starts.

Starting with player 1 as AI is a good idea. The other possibility (assuming that it actually is imminent) is to wait for the patch - the reasoning being that, apart from potentially resolving the current issues, it is possible that any game we start now will become unstable or even unusable once we install the patch, forcing yet another restart (I think something like that happened with one of the Civ3 patches). Any views on this? I'm happy to go with whatever the majority chooses.

New game created. First player was human but then deleted (I heard that using an AI civ didn't work). Passwords = in-game names as before. First save sent.

Well, Letz hope it works this time! My previous starting position was crap anyway.

I have now received your file but think you have sent my the wrong file. Coz when I load the game, it asked me a password for Viper!

I have tried putting 'Viper' as password, got through as Saladin. I then quickly clicked 'end turn' and a file is then created to send to myself. I then loaded it, I started exactly the same spot as the game before. I therefore suspect you have sent me an older file.
Btw, the file you sent me shows to scorwler and no enkidu.

Viper, thanks the file. Unfortunately you sent the wrong file again! This time the game is right, coz there are 6 players, but you have sent the file you received from Scrowler/Beefy to me!
The file you should be sending is in your Saves/PBEM/UK PBEM 3/ folder.
Please can you resend again.

You'll have to start deleting the old saves (once you've made sure you've sent the right one!).
