PC Saves on the Mac?

A friend and I are trying to share save games (start from the same saves). The problem is, he has a mac and I have a PC.

Now, I was able to open his saves, but he can't open mine. I'm guessing this has something to do with the fact that Macs dont determine file type by extension... but does anyone know a way around this?

It's due to version differences. The 1.21f patch for the Mac hasn't been officially released yet...

Your friend can get the Mac 1.21f Open Beta version here: ftp://ftp.infogrames.net/patches/civ3/Civ3_121f_Open_Beta_1.sit

He should be able to load your saves after he installed that beta patch...

Thanks for the reply... unfortunately, he is already running with that patch, so no luck.

Has anyone actually done this? (opened a PC save on a Mac)
