They added a safari feature!!! (Do you think there are sharks too? No more MGL's swimming in the ocean waiting for pickup....lol.)

I guess they've added some really ugly sea monsters, capable of swallowing your warships, if you not sacrifice enough slave workers to the seagods.... harr, harr...... ;) :crazyeye:

It seems like at different zoom levels, certain things appear or disappear. The cities are probably small looking because they want to be able to fit in city improvements around the edges, like the temple shown in Fig 4.

If you look at those improvements outside the cities, there are roads to all of them!
That makes me think they are connected to resources, and has something to do with them!
But you're right that one of them looks like a temple! Can't figure that one out! Perhaps some wonders are shown outside the cities?

:p

I really, really, really like the look of this game. Remember when we thought the graphics looked terrible?

Is anyone else a little disappointed by the size and look of the news? I think I'd have preferred smaller icons with only one "individual" representative of a larger whole.

The terrain itself looks acceptable, but I get a feeling we're seeing something less than a finished product (or at least I hope so).

I saved the pictures in case they disapear. Here's what I noticed:

First Pic: Two or 3 things that resemble mines, each looks different. Also, an Oasis (either that or a special new graphic for landlocked lakes). Finally, Elf-merchants and something with metal helmets (looks like either a pick-ax or a crossbow).

2nd Pic: Kickass looking Knights with brown flags. Spearmen with Black Pirate flag (could be a barbarian, could be another civ).
White flag with red dot that looks a little like the Japanese flag. 3 Spear/Hoplites, 2 Galleys, 1 group of 2 dudes with red (could be scouts). Also, 3 Lions with the black pirate flag. The city of Persepolis with teal border (the whole territory seems slightly shaded, not just the borders outlined). Borders haven't expanded. 5(?) Warriors W, NW moving towards Civ3-style mushroom goodie hut SW. Something black NE of them? Different colored hills for plains and grassland. Same might be true of trees

Pic3: Showing that they have a zoom feature

Pic4: Beehive style something (city?), mine SE?, something else SE of that? Duck in tree in NE corner? Horse near bottom. Something else west of that. Don't see any cultural borders

Pic5: Snow, mountains, and trees. Looks like workers and swordsmen. N and NW have something (could be a mine). On the grassland valley: Looks like a big house. Deer nearby. Plants look planted (wishful thinking?). Something on/in hill.

Getting lazy

Pic6: A couple of scouts? A couple of Chariots and pirate lions.

I like the looks of this game :)

However, I noticed that on some screenies the tiles are squared while on others they are diamond.. Any conclusive on this?

it's 3d, you can rotate ;)

Very interesting...

They look fantastic to me save for one very glaring issue; square coastlines.

Ugh. Looks so fake. Please change this guys. :D

For those who don't want to search for screenshots all over the place, and incase these ones on Apolyton soon vanish, you can find all 16 of them released to date by clicking on the link in my signature. :)

Detail looks better in these, but design still looks poor. The multi-units don't look good, and the resources are too large. Hopefully there will be some appropriate tweaking before release.

Oh, and what's with the coast line?
