Peloponnesian War Scenario Development Thread

I think there will be several pre-built wonders in Athens and Sparta, and some that should be built. I'd figure building wonders isn't an objective many players would focus on.

Also, you might want to try and avoid giving pre-built wonders any civ traits, because I think it would cause a golden age (although a golden age for Athens at the begining of the scenario might make sense).

The problem is finding wonders to build. Greece was very much focused on establishing their military and warfare that all construction projects and so forth were largely abandoned.

A way to do it is to list down every major achievement, battle, change in tactics in chronological order. Then have a list of 'haves' and 'have nots' for different equipment, buildings and tactics for all civs. When both of these things are done for before (from the start of the Persian War or so), during and after (until the rise of Thebes) the war, a tech tree can be made and we could hopefully fit wonders to build in there. The tree could be divided into three eras: Before the War, During the War and After the War (with different names)

Amenhotep7, Poetry of Sappho belongs on the island of Lesbos. The towns of Mitylene and Erresos both claimed her. Also, I have rechecked Theater of Epidaurus. It was begun after the Peloponesian war. Sorry I neglected my homework on that one.

No great theater, eh? Well, it's just as well, since we have >25 wonders. Thank you!:D

Xen-How goes the map?:)

I have made more progress into the civpedia, everyone![dance] All of the (as of yet made;))units have entries!:D Now we must discuss: We can only have 25 wonders. Some of which are already on the City View Screen. What we need to decide is exactly which Wonders we will use. I'm not going to make my descision until I hear the opinions of others.:D

Can you compile the entire post into one list?

Also, do pre-built wonders and small wonders apply as well to the limit?

Yes, yes they do. :) I'll get the list of wonders a little later, then I'll await whatcha think.:D

If it's after the Peloponnesian War, then no.:undecide::(

List o' wonders: :D

Oracle of Delphi

Marble Quarries of Thasos
Great Port of Byzantium
Poetry of Sappho
Delian Treasury
Great Harbor
Spartan Defense
Council of Ephors or Great Rhetra
Aqueduct of Eupalinus
Eleusinian Mysteries
Isthmian Ship Track (Maybe a better name)
School of Homer
School of Medicine

P.S. GREAT NEWS! We have just 25 wonders! Man, that's lucky!...Now all we have to decide is which ones may be able to be replaced/removed!:D

Let's go with Greek...This is a Greek scenario, after all.:D

Okay...So now we vote...Which one goes???:(

I think, in the end, more than one will go, as 25 wonders is overkill.

For a wonder of the world, I know suprisingly little about the Temple of Artemis. When was it made anyway?

The Greeks built it. Seriously? No clue...Time to go to Encarta.:)

Yeah, 25 is overkill...And how many of these wonders would actually be important in the war?

Well, the ones which I would like in are:

1) Oracle of Delphi
2) Oracle of Dodona
3) Citadel of Acrocorinthus
4) Statue of Zues
5) Olympic Games
6) Temple of Artemis
7) Agoge (Spartan Military Code)
8) Heraeum of Samos
9) Parthenon (Acropolis of Athens)
10) Erechtheion (Maybe overkill though)
11) Long Walls
12) Mines of Amphipolis
13) Great Harbour of Syracuse
14) Delian Treasury
15) Great Rhetra (Council of Ephors)
16) School of Homer on Chios

If maybe everyone else made similar style lists, we could eliminate several unneccsary wonders, keeping in mind the need to spread the wonders across Greece.
