Ok, I'm the first to admit I am not the most technologically savvy but I cannot figure out why civ5 is performing so poorly regardless of settings (horrible sound quality with stuttering music, extremely slow load times and slide-show effect when I move the camera at all, no leader animation regardless of setting, etc.).
As mention, not tech savvy so have tried the following to see if there is any difference, don't really know what should effect performance. I've tried directx9 and 10/11 (I do get the 10/11 recommended message). I've swapped around the graphics settings with everything turned from default up to all at high. Changed resolution from 1920x1200 down to lowest. Even messed with Full-screen and v-sync to see if they made any difference but no change.
Basic system specs (it's a laptop):
Operating System: Windows® 7
Processor: 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme X9000
Memory: 4GB, 667MHz DDR2
Video: Nvidia GeForce 9800M GT (x2) run in SLI
Chipset: Intel PM965
Any help would be much appreciated.
