Pericles Declares War on Pericles BUG!?

So I am playing as Pericles in my new game and I meet ... Pericles? Yep, the game put a second Pericles as my neighbor. And to make things funnier, the AI Pericles declared a surprise war against me, Pericles.

I bet this is a bug because Greece as two leaders.

Other people have complained of this. There is a thread in the Bugs section. I was Cleo and she declared war on me.

Probably not the same bug, but as Arabia I sent a delegation to Victoria. My delegate immediately reported that England had been visited by a delegation from Arabia - given the timing, presumably my delegation, but maybe she met a different Arabia?

Has anyone who's encountered this seen how the city names work? Will there be two identically-named capitals?

Yeah, that is a different bug. I have seen that one in every game so far. My guess is the code is simply giving ALL delegate info regardless of owner so it is also giving delegate info from you.

No it is not a two leader bug. It happens when someone declares war on you through a Joint War when they don't actually know of your existence. The popup said Trajan declared war one me(i am Trajan), it was actually Phillip who joined a war with Harald. Once i met Phillip's units it did the please to meet you routine, and when his Icon came up in the leader section it showed him at war with me

Being able to declare a joint war on someone you don't know is a bug. It feels so silly that your first meeting with Trajan doesn't tell you that you're at war with him until he offers you a bunch of money and luxuries for peace...

My wife had the same with gilgamesh. I guess he ain't his own bro. The bad thing is, ghost gilgamesh is still gilgamesh so he went for a joint war with England...

It happened to me also when I'm Norway. I think the duplicate is another civ whom you haven't met yet
