I wonder what some Balkan people called the Barbarian hordes over those centuries. There is a lot of history in the Balkans dealing with the barbarian hordes. I doubt their resentment is based on jealousy. Not to say the Turks were the only barbarian hordes to infest the land. There have been many skirmishes of various racial barbarian hordes in that area.
Don't take the comment of barbarian horde as such a slant. The Scots celebrate their heritage, the French almost deny it, and the Norwegians are completely apathetic to their history of barbarian hordes; but all fess up to the fact.
They were people hundreds of years ago, not your mom.

On the other hand, if I may direct you guys all to 'where are the Turks' thread by Battal Gazi, you will witness the insult of a toecutter from UK. Now these insults have no place in a thread regarding a game, and I think this particular person should be banned from posting such messages.

But in rural Turkey it is the sort of behaviour that is not so uncommon, so no surprises there. though that would have happened to any male!! your being a brit has no bearing there so dont let it get to your head as hostility from locals.

though I myself lived in UK for 9 years, and prefer the English Rose. No complications, no relatives to worry about! plain and straight-forward

Actually Barbarians, or barbarian culture and mentality it is something that each undergoes, it matters more whether it still lingers on or stays in the past. I have never seen totally civilized nation from the very beginnings up to very end. Have you? Persians have also, coming to Iranian plateau, as Nomadic barbarians from steppes between Black and Caspian Sea, and Northern Kazakstan displaced too many indigenous Dravidian peoples brutally, in fact, what is now India used to totally belong to Dravids, which are the most indigenous tribe to this and Iranian area (and most civilised!! they started building cities as far back as 5000-6000 years ago, when Aryans never knew anything except saddle). Sumer and Elam come as Dravidian cultures and civilizations linguistically according to the latest scientific surveys, as well as places like Mohenjo Daro in Indus valley. Some scientists think that Elam, and other oldest sedentary cultures of Dravids (very high cultured ones for that time, because, at that time they already knew how to dig channels, build houses, use loos, streets) were destroyed by your Persians, who were at that time Nomadic Aryan Horsemen just like Mongols, they just invaded from the North and killed and destroyed Dravids cities and people and displaced them way down to what is now South India and Sri-Lanka. There is another branch of Iranian people who still practices Nomadic way of life.
I am not a Dravid though, so relax, people, do not concoct any story to offend me! Although, you could actually, I find it very funny!

yup discussions here is ok and we should think more like gamers,this is y we r here after all! i read the msg u mentioned.regretably cant say that his wrong.remember how facts in ur country r transmmited to the rest on the world and what a ppl with different culture may think..turks ppl r fine but ur politicians r aggressive and friends of war and they show their bm in every chance =[ anyway...gazzi is a cool guy,nice talking to u also
