My first attempt at making a map ever, so go easy on me. The map is based on the world described in Phillip Jose Farmer's classic series Riverworld. The entire world was one large river with lush grasslands seperated by huge mountain ranges.

It's a tine map, with 14 civs! There's also no Coal, Rubber, Oil or Uranium on map, keeping things mostly in the middle ages for the whole game. On the tiny map with this many civs, it's going to be an all out war for most of the game anyway.

It won't suit everyone's style, but i like it.

Comments are always welcome.

I hate to be picky, but I believe that the cliffs and mountains should run parallel to the river. In the books, you could travel along the river, but couldn't cross the cliffs (except by dirigible). The usable land area was only a thin strip along each side of the river.

I don't know if I'm being clear, but there it is.

Maybe someone (enterprising, unlike myself who only lives to be critical of others:)) should do a map of Larry Nivens' RingWorld.

I think an accurate Ringworld wouldn't be too much fun because it is supposed to be uncontrollably vast. Just one of the maps of the planets is enough for a single civ3 map. Someone could do the Map of Mars or Kzin, but there's not much information about them in the books.

Ive read the "Riverworld" Books, and i agree that there should be some way to make the cliffs impassible. Also i think that to truly represt the riverworld, the shore should be longer, and the map should be "huge". Also, since in the books people were able to make steamboats, perhaps there should be 2 or 3 Iron and Coal resources, maybe in out of the way places. Lastly, at the end of the river there is a big lake with a tower. Maybe that could be represted? All-in-all though, awesome idea for a map.
