So I have been looking around this forum to try and find a problem similar to mine but havent found it exactly though some that are similar.
With the original, unpatched, version of the game it runs thought slowly at times. When either one of the patches is installed the start up screen turns to all hot pink colored and say "you are below min specs" (which im not). Then when I try to start a game it crashes to desk top. Ive resulted to running the game unpacthed.
My sys specs are: 1.4ghz, 1gig ram, Geforce 2 (i think its 128mb..ill check at lunch, ill also run a direct x diaglog and upload it then)
So I have a few questions: Since I have lots of sys ram and a low end video card am i better off sticking with the unpatched version? Also, are there any suggestions as to how I could optimize gameplay with the unpatched version? I have all video settings within the game and the settings on my card set to lowest. ive also used the latest version of the driver. omega drivers helped slightly not much though. Im wondering if you have any suggestions of things i could do in the bios/civIV config file that would help the game run smoother in the end game/when there is a lot going on.
secondly (sorry this is turing into an essay), is there anyway to manipulate my machine with the latest patch to get as good or better preformance then I am already getting? again, ill post the dxdiag within the day.
