Pirates... HELP

Started playing a random game with pirates but i'm having a hard time getting used to the different mechanics. Is there a Wiki , how to , or a baisc guide on how to play them properly?

or do i just start asking questions here.

As I recall, the pirates were never developed into a viable player alternative. And in the last version of AoD2 they were in fact disabled.
