pitboss admin screen

Hi all,

My question, briefly, is: How does the pitboss host access the pitboss admin screen?

In more detail:

According to the official description of pitboss,

"The staging room marks the end of the setup interface wizard. Once "Finish" is clicked, the wizard will disappear and the game will launch. Once the game has finished launching, the administrator is presented with an Admin screen."

As someone else mentioned in these forums, the game doesn't launch when "Finish" is clicked. When civ 4 is started independently after "Finish" is clicked, and i join the pitboss game, i think i see what could be the admin screen flash on the screen, while the game loads (just after choosing my leader). So, i don't know how to access the admin screen.

Any info or reference to a faq or manual would be greatly appreciated.

Do you see a DOS-looking window when you click "Finish"? Here's the two windows you should see, before starting Civ4 proper:

Then your pitboss server is running. Is it possible that you just have a connectivity problem in your client Civ4 machines connecting to it? Or maybe you have a firewall program on your pitboss server blocking access to it?

There is no problem playing the game. I wanted to access any pitboss administration tools there may be. So, are you telling me the window in the screenshot you posted is the "pitboss admin screen"? The pitboss description i cited in my question makes it sound like you will get an admin screen after civ 4 loads...

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

The screenshot is showing what I'd call the pitboss admin screen. From it, you can boot players to AI, change the daily message, review status on players, and (with BtS) change the turn times. Not a lot, but as far as I know there's no other windows at all (aside from that DOS window, and that doesn't let you input anything).

Maybe what they're referring to is the screens you go through when you put in the pitboss address/password to load in your Civ4 game? Dunno.

I know the screen you're talking about. It flashes briefly during load time, but there's no way of accessing it. We're stuck with that crappy dialog instead.
