While I applaud FfHs efforts to provide a wide variety of playing options, as much in alignment as in lots of other things, I think there's too little encouragement for players to do so.
For example, as I posted in the feature wishlist thread, I think it'd be really cool to have a mechanic to "encourage" being peaceful (one common side-effect of being a good guy). As it stands, a lot of the fun that can be had in FfH is tied to warmongering.
There's a lot of interesting stuff you can do with leveling up your units and shape them with upgrades, kinda like a miniature RPG.
If you're playing peacefully, there are no (or very few) wars, and you miss out on this entire experience.
There really should be something to compensate - something with "micromanagement", i.e. a RPG like upgrading structure.
My first idea was "levelling up cities", but there are surely many different options. SOMETHING should be there, though.
That said, I think the evil mechanics don't work quite that well, either. Armageddon occurs too rarely without the player actively driving the AC upwards. But from what I understand, there's some work on stuff like AI scheduled at some point in the not-too-distant-future, so evil AIs playing more efficiently might solve this.
