It's cool you are open for a constructive debate. Regarding your argument of uniqueness:
I think uniqueness is no value itself. The worth in being unique lies within the communication of it. So you still can be unique as well as social. You can still be of forgiving nature, reflective and flexible, forseeing and celebrate your body of work. I think everyone is being a bit narcistic, by the way and maybe that's even a good thing - as long as it's coming side by side with a good chunk of modesty and positivity - although somehow diverting aspects of personality, together they pave the way for creativity.
The real reason might be you fear that your work is no longer appreciated and consumed if you make it available - why should people use your mod when another mod has it all and even much more as well. Yeah that's comprehensible in some way. Nevertheless, you may weight it by other factors: how many people could have fun with the merged files that would never had heard of your mod?
Maybe you would deny your hard works efforts to more people than you would exclusively enable to enjoy it? Also: how many people might actually look at your mod, once some sort of prominent crediting agreement is in place? This I can promise you: I surely would.
Peace is better for all. Think of synergies.
