The bananas do not have a plantation?

The citrus looks fine. You are on a hill = 2 hammers. It's citrus so it's +1 gold and +1 food for the base tile too (can't recall having citrus seen on hills before though, u be using mods or a special map?).
Now the plantation gives another +1 gold. That is all a plantation does (except on bananas, there it's +2 food instead iirc) (only after fertilizer a plantation gains another +1 food).

The first screenshot shows a finished plantation on bananas, i rolled back because of the yield, I wanted food, not production. Basically I got 2 production and lost 2 food.

And Im pretty sure the base yield for the citrus was 2 food, with the icon telling me I would get another food.

The map is small continents, no mods, all pre-patch dlc, created today.

On a side note: On a game I played this weekend I could not trading post on bananas, patch or bug ?

There definitely is no plantation on the bananas. From what you wrote you clearly only have removed the jungle so far. So you got the hill (+2 production) with bananas +1 food. Plantation will make it 4f and 1h (granary then 5/1).

And citrus like I said - and like you say (from the tooltip): +1 food added onto the base tile yield.
So hill is 0 food and citrus adds +1 to that. You probably though it's 2 base food because citrus usually always is on plains or grassland where it would have 2 or 3 food (and again +1 with fertilizer tech).

Ok, I see what you mean now. When the worker stopped I thought he was finished with the plantation, looks like he wasnt.

And I forgot to correct the yield for just base tile, without forrest/jungle.
The tooltip can be a bit misleading with citrus on plains/hills, you lose food instead of gaining it.

Thanks for the fast response.

The problem is jungle is the same base yield as grassland and removing the jungle gives you a plains tile. So you lose 1 food and gain 1 production. Then when the plantation is finished you lose that production and gain back the 1 food, plus whatever plantation bonus the resource gets.

IMO, they should remove the requirement to clear the jungle to build the plantation since the final yield is only different from the base yield by whatever bonus the resource gets with a plantation. This would clear up the confusion from the change in tile yield when the jungle becomes a plains. It would also make it worthwhile to build plantations on bananas, because you'd get to keep the 2 science with universities and gain the extra 1 food.

So a truffle camp on jungle will actually keep the jungle, and the added yield from the tooltip is correct.
Kinda silly the plantation on jungle wont give you added food, the tooltip suggests it is intended to do so.

Plantation on Jungle Will give you added food (unless it is on a hill)

A Banana plantation is +2 food -1 hammer

So Banana on Jungle= 3 food 0 hammer
chop Jungle= 2 food 1 hammer (or 1 food 2 hammers if hill)
add plantation= 4 food 1 hammer (or 3 food 1 hammer if hill)
[of course with fertilizer it adds food even if it is on a hill]

Jungles with bananas are usually worth keeping. You don't need plantations to get +1 food from granaries and by chopping jungle down, you deny yourself the bonus from universities. Furthermore, if you do not follow liberty, it takes forever to clear jungle and build a plantation. 19 turns on epic speed and for 8 turns all you get is what you see on the screen above.
When fertilizer comes, you will still be much happier with +2:c5science: than some additional food.
