Play the World woun't start...

Hi all,

I have searched and searched on the forum, and didn't find anyone with this problem. pls help me out.

I got Civ 3 from my friend and installed it. I bought PTW addon yesturday and installed it, it worked fine. Then I found out that there were a lot of buggs inngame so I installed the patch PTW1.14F. After that I cound't start the game! When I doubleclick on the exe of the game I get an error saying that
ifc23.dll is missing. what is that ??
I found a ifc23.dll file on the internett and placed it in the PTW folder, but now I get an error in french saying something about the CD rom.... this is all weird... what could be the problem.??

Don't feel too bad. I just recieved PTW for Christmas and can not get the damn game to execute. PTW installed properly, hell I even reinstalled twice and downloaded the patch. Every time I double click the shortcut (or go into my programs folder and click on PTW) nothing happens. No error message, nothing. I have not got a f*$king clue what the problem could be.

Uberman, I have the same problem. Mine did that without the patch too.... If you fix it, please LMK.

PTW does not run. I have been dealing with Infogrames tech support for at least a month now and they can not fix it. They have offered to exchange it for another game, but I don't want another game. Can someone help me.

When I double click the PTW icon, nothing happens. The game does not even start. I am running win 98se. I have 330 MB of RAM and have a AMDk62 processor. Please help.
