Play the World?

I am new to the Civ community. I bought Civ3: GOTY edition a couple weeks ago and haven't been asleep since. I was wondering if the PTY add on is worth buying for the single player aspect. I don't really care that much about the multiplayer. So please, let me know if you think it's worth it as a single player add on. Thanks

I definitely think that PTW is worth it! In fact, I've been telling others all along that I think PTW's single-player enhancement alone justify its purchase. It is more streamlined, has more units, and eight additional civs to boot. Welcome to Civfanatics! You are going to love it here! Also, I warn you: you may find it difficult to judge whether you are more addicted to Civ 3 or to the CFC forums!

Yes it's worth it. There's now true stack movement, extra field structures ( I'm going to like the outpost ), extended aircraft range, and more civs of course. If you have inklings towards modding at all, it's definitely a good buy, there's a few new interesting options.
