Playground Mod

So, your civ that you invented in your forum that you tried to get us to learn the language?

Well... Ask Omega. (We don't really have a limited number of civs, just that we are looking for new ones that actually formed.)

The Omega said:
Fine with me. As long as you're willing to do the work in creating it, cause I'll be busy with the civs that were on my playground.
Oh don't worry. Tomoyo's all ready for this.

Well, then it's fine with me.

Hey, I'm not as loserish as you're making me sound... :(

*gets back to working on it*

You said you were making a scenario on that earlier. (I remember you asked a question about PRTO_ text files it a while ago)

Okay, I know you asked me for this forever ago, but with the day off on labor day, I finally will have time to write th eBarbarians civiclopedia entry.:) So, here we go....

The term "Barbarian" was originally coined in 5th grade by S and Alexi to give a name to all the minor groups that weren't directly part of the Playground Wars. However, Barbarians had been an important part of the Playground long before they were given a name. For the most part, the barbarian groups were used to create minor diversions in wars, or recruited as mercenaries for armies. However, in the rare cases that a single person took the mantle of leadership over all the barbarians, they were a force to be reckoned with.
The two most famous of these cases were during Boy-Boy War and The Cold War. In Boy-Boy War, a group of Barbarians fought with the Boy Union over control of Girl Island. The Barbarians fought the Boy Union to a standstill, and the war continued on and off for over a month, with neither side gaining a clear advantage. Eventaully, the Boy Union's military organization and discipline was weakend so much, that S was able to break away, and form a group that would become the precursor of Freak Attack. After S'es betrayal, the Boy Union abandoned it's attempts to conquer Girl Island, and let the Barbarian group live. With the Boy Union no longer trying to wipe them out, the Barbarians slowly moved back towards their original anarchistic order.
Later during the Cold War, Freak Attack helped organize the Barbarians once again, hoping to create a new ally in the increasingly hostile School. However, the Boy Union was able to convince the Barbarian's leader, Josh, into joining the Boy Alliance. However, Freak Attack was able to use it's military might to threaten the Barbarian's into once again becoming an ally. The Barbarians changed sides many times during this time, until the rise of Senso, and S'es evil and not very nice diplomatic skillz caused them to, against their better judgement, join the Combined Forces. The Barbarians played an important role in many battles during the Death Strike Incident, and many skirmishes with Senso during the period of S declaring himself as emperor of everything. As 6th grade came close to an end, the Barbarians increasingly become more and more closer to the Boy Union, until eventually they ended up being part of it.

Yay. :)

Finally, the current entry was exactly this: "The barbarians are barbaric."

Time for small detail stuff!:D
Some of the stuff I'm suggesting may seem to make the game unbalanced for some civs, but I'm planning on adding units that'll lesson that unbalancedness.

Here we go now!

-Increase Boy Alliance Infantry cost to 95, increase attack to 20, defense to 22.
-Increase Freak Assasin attack to 20.
-Increase Senso Warrior attack to 21, and defense to 16.
-Increase Mage attack to 15, Defense to 17, Decrease cost to 70.
-Increase Wizard attack to 17, Defense to 20, Increase ROF to 1, Decrease cost to 75.
-Increase Druid attack to 21, Defense to 21, Bombard to 10, ROF to 2, Decrease cost to 90.
-Increase Sorceror attack to 23, Defense to 25, Bombard to 12, ROF to 2, Decrease cost to 100.
-Give Assualt AAV 1 hp bonus.
-Give Reinforced AAV 1 hp bonus.
-Increase Standard AAV attack and defense to 21, give 1 HP bonus.
-Increase Terror AAV attack to 23, defense to 21, hp bonus to 4.
-Increase Mass Produced AAV attack to 19, defense to 18, give 1 hp bonus.
-Give Seige AAV 1 hp bonus.
-Increase Laser AAV attack to 22, give 1 hp bonus.
-Give Hovering AAV 1 hp bonus.
-Increase Scout AAV attack and defense to 18, give 1 hp bonus.
-Give Gatling AAV 1 hp bonus.

Thinking of small and nearly insignificant details is fun!

-Increase Freak Attack aggression to 5.
-Decrease UF aggression to 3.
-Decrease Girl aggression to 1.
-Change Reb favored government to that Rebolutionary gov.
-For Democratic-Dictatorship, increase unit support to 1 per town, 2 per city, 3 per metropolis (It doesn't make sense that the BU's supposed to have a huge army, but their gov doesn't support one)

Another idea: Have the Mercenary Army wonder put a free improvement, called Mercenary Outpost, in every city. The improvement would act as a barracks, but could meltdown if the city got too unhappy (i.e., mercenary revolution)

Okay, after a lot of thought (2 weeks worth), I've decided that Death Strike should have it's own civ. Mainly because it'll make making the Cold War scenario incredibly easier.

Faction name: Death Strike
Noun: Death Strike
Adjective: Death Strike

Faction Leader: Tony
Title: Ruler

Build often: Off. Land units, Def. Land units, artillery land units, Naval Units, Air units, production
Build never: Nothing

City Names: Death Stike City
Death Strike Fort #1-something
Death Strike Outpost #1-something
MGLs: Daniel, Andrew, Josh, Brian
SGLs: Austin, Brandon, Bobby, Jay

Agression level: 5

Team Colors: Dunno.... Normally I'd say black, but FA's already got that.

King unit(s): Tony-1 (The warrior, not the beserker, Tony-2 (Available with Political Wars)

LH: Definitly the Nazi flag.

I was thinking that they would have the FA unit lines until they get to 6th grade, where they'd branch out into their own lines (Like the UF and Rebs with the BU unit lines). FA would still be able to build the two Death Strike units it can build now, but not any other Death Strike units that are added.

New unit!

Bounty Hunter
Tech: Mercenaries
Shields: 85
Moves: 2
Attack: 11
Defense: 8
Bombard str: 2
ROF: 2
Requires Support
Resources: Mercenaries
Abilities: Foot Unit
Stealth Attack Targets: Everything unit that isn't a middle school unit.
Available To: Freak Attack, Senso, Death Strike (Replaces Mercenary for them)
Class: Land
AI Strategies: Offense, Defense
Flags: All Standard Orders, Load, Airlift, Pillage, Stealth Attack, Capture, Upgrade?

The basis for this unit is that Freak Attack and Senso really didn't use mercenaries, but bounty hunters were commonly used by them (Especially for Freak Attack). Bounty hunters proved themselves to be much better fighters, and much more loyal than mercenaries (I even had some bounty hunters agree to fight without any payment, as Freak Attack's funds were running low) However, bounty hunters were alot rarer than mercenaries, which is why they have the increased cost.

I'm also wondering if they should upgrade to something.... But I'm not sure what....

Senso units! (Yay, i've finally gotten some ideas! Mainly by browsing through the created units stuff and picking thigns that I really like, even if they have little to do with anything!:crazyeye: )

Okay, for this first unit, before it could be added we'd have to move zombie from Mass Production to Sword Fighting, decrease it's attack and defense by 1, and decrease it's cost by 5. Then have it upgrade to this unit.

Mummy
Tech: Military Specialization
Upgrades From: Zombie
Upgrades to: Senso Warrior
Shields: 65
Attack: 14
Defense: 9
Requires Support
Abilities: Foot unit
Available to: Senso
Class: Land
AI Strategies: Offense, Defense
Enslave Results in: Zombie
Flags: All Standard Orders; Load; Airflift; Pillage; Enslave; Upgrade; Capture

Okay, for this unit I was really just thinking along the lines of maknig something opposite of Gaiden. Freak Attack was all dark and gothic by 7th grade, so I was looking for something that would be the opposite of that, and I found this.
Golden Warrior
Tech: 7th Grade
Upgrades From: Senso Warrior
Shields: 130
Moves: 3
Attack: 25
Defense: 20
HP Bonus: 1
Require's Support
Abilities: Foot Unit; Blitz; Radar; Amphibious; Starts Golden Age
Available to: Senso
Class: Land
AI Strategies: Offense, Defense
Enslave Results in: Senso Warrior
Flags: All Standard Orders; Load; Airlift; Pillage; Enslave; Capture

First of all, to comment on the nitpicky details:

Isn't the Assault AAV powerful enough already?

The Omega said:
LH: Definitly the Nazi flag.
Why the Nazi flag?

And also, why decide to add Death Strike in now? Because, like you said, they are pretty much the puppet group of FA... (unless if there was always a very real possibility of them revolting)

Another minor change, then two BU units.

Minor change!
-Increase Gaiden attack by 1.

I want to give all AAVs 1 bonus hp, cause they're supposed to be tanks, and tanks have armor, and are kinda hard to kill....

Because most of the people in the group were evil, scary people. And even though it did help me rise to power, I still don't like Death Strike very much.....

Because its alot easier to get civs to act like you want them to than it is to get barbs to act like you want them too, and I've decided it would be easier to make the Cold War scenario with a Death Strike civ, along with Death Strike barbarians.... And it would add another civ, and we don't have many civs right now.

So all AAVs get 1 more than they have already? Ok.

Hmm, but putting them as Nazis is going a bit far... (Political correctness) How about the Bhutan flag?
