Recently this morning, I discovered that the backup batteries of my Pocket PC are very low and had to be forced into a hard restart wich made me lose eveything in the memory.

Does the Backup batteries in my PocketPC recharge along with the main batteries? I tried to look every where but the topic is more geared to the main batteries and not to the recharging of the back up batteries on other PocketPCs and Laptops and none for the Axim models.

BTW, The model of my PocketPC is the Axim X30

I don't personally own a Dell Axim X30... but one of my current projects gave me one :)

Manual page 107. It's Appendix, Power Supply section. It said the backup battery is a 20mAh rechargeable nickel metal hydride button cell... so you can safely assume it will recharges itself :)

BUT! The manual also said after the main battery runs dry, the backup battery will only run for 30 minutes before the device power off (page 23). So it is probably a very small backup battery, and you should either leave the device in the cradle to recharge, or consider using an extra main battery as a backup.

... I can't resist it.

RTM!

BTW, Axim X30 is a really nice PPC... a lot of features (wireless, bluetooth, infra-red) and power (624Mhz, 64Mb of SDRAM) packed into a small device, and quite cheap too (less than HKD2600).
