Political parties are an important part of many of today's modern nations, so why not incorporate them into a Civ game?

I think political parties would work like religion in the customizable aspect, basically creating a platform or set for the party's beliefs and solutions. Perhaps their main tenet (or core belief) can be on a certain resource or development of a civ. By resources, I am referring to hammers, gold, food, science, faith, etc. With such platforms, you could have a party focused on improving the economy (boosts gold output), or a religious party that seeks to promote religious values in the public sphere and advocates a certain religion's views of morality/beliefs (boosts faith output.)

You could receive points and after a certain number, you build a party. You can have rival more than one party where there is an election every so often that determines the leading party. These elections could be determined by your cities and what the city needs most at the moment.

Since party symbols vary between countries, instead of having symbols like religions, they can just use colors instead, or use party symbols of a specific RL country.

There are already Ideologies in BNW. Although Ideologies aren't the same, I think that they are similar enough to not bother adding a separate feature for it. In real life, political parties usually stick to a set of basic ideas, an ideology.
