Political Parties Mod?

I brought this idea up in a different thread. and now I'm bringing it here:

Why not make a mod that replaces the religions in the game with political parties (as a joke)

Here are the major Political Parties throughout American history (you can add some but nothing rediculous please)

Democrats (Already Done)
Republicans (Already Done)
Federalists
Democratic-Republicans
Whigs
Independents (Optional)

Anyway, just a thought...

You could couple this with a change in the civics with a "Parties" column. And then have "One Party State", "Parlimentry parties", "no Parties", "regulated Parties", etc.

This could be fun to play once through and conquer the world as a Whig

This is a good idea. You could develop this into mod where you the leader can affiliate yourself with a party and each party has different benefits to your country. You could choose your party on the civics screen possibly. Just so you know, being an Independent means you are officially not associated with any party, it is not a party itself.

Progressive Party
Prohibitionists
Free Soil Party
American Independent (Gov. George Wallace in the 1968 and 72 elections)

Well, they have two of the parties already covered, but there's still some they haven't done yet. So this thread is still OK I guess
