I was at a family restaurant not too long ago, and I was very bored. The food took a while, so I came up witha politically correct name for the pickle spear (just to make fun of politcally correct names). I called it a 'modified deli cucumber quadrant.' One cannot call them spears, because they are not really spears. Pickle makes the food seem inferior to other foods (just go along with it). I wanted to share that for some unknown reason. Can anyone come up with any other politically correct names for non- living things? What about straws, shirts, or a computer? Look around and come up with politically correct names.

hmm. I saw a stand up comedy act on TV the other day in which the comedian called homeless people "Outdoorsmen."

How about "dietarily challenged individual" for a vampire....

A short sleeve shirt is a "differently lengthed sleeve shirt"

And what else, hmm perhapse we can call wide screen TV's "Horrizontaly enhanced televisions"

Edit: I was wrong

A short sleeve shirt is an "alternately lengthed sleeve shirt". different is just plain mean

I don't know if you know this meal, but in Germany we have something called "Zigeunerschnitzel" (literally "Gipsy Schnitzel", it refers to a sauce that comes along with it). Now the word "Zigeuner" (Gipsy) is considered politically incorrect, you are supposed to speak of "Sinti and Roma" (the peoples' real name) instead.
Well as a matter of consequence a teacher I had in school said he now usually orders a "Sinti and Roma Schnitzel". :crazyeye:

Egad, political correctness isn't confined to English. I wonder when Arnold Schwartzenegger is going to be forced to change his name to Arnold Afrikaner-Österreicher

But okay, I'll bite. How about:
'Differently-lengthed literary work' instead of 'short story'.

'Nutritional reproductive capsule' instead of 'egg'.

'Quality advantaged entertainment' instead of 'Civ'. ;)

My brother once referred to the remote control as the thing with buttons. Surprisingly enough I immediately knew what he was referring to, so what does this say about my brother and what does this say about me?? ;)

Turning something on is actually "toggling it's current electrical status to match that of an object with a currently active electrical flow"
