Good idea.

Possible sides to the war (will be sort of a Command and Conquer: Generals ripoff, but here we go):

- NATO
-- USA: as is.
-- Commonwealth: Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK.
- EU: It will include all of Europe, including Turkey, Norway and Switzerland due to easing the map making and reducing the amount of playable civs)
-- Japan: (not within the NATO, but still...)
-- Russia: as is.
-- South American Union: a union of all the civs there. Might be a NATO ally. Not necessarily have to be within NATO.
-- India: A locked alliance against Pakistan. Might be a NATO ally. Not necessarily have to be within NATO.

- Islamic Union (boy this is cheezy, but nevermind): A locked alliance against India
-- Pakistan: as is.
-- Arab League: All the Arab nations, including all of North Africa and Somalia.
-- Iran: as is.

- Asian Union
-- Territory will include all of Asia, including China, North Korea and South Korea. I'd say, South Korea would already be occupied in such a scenario.

- Neutral
-- The Balkan Union (wow, that's no way near realistic, but hey, it's a huge scale scenario)
-- African Union (?)


I don't think there's anyone I left out.

The three big alliances here, which are NATO (including India), Islamic Union, and Asian Union would all have locked alliances against each other.

12 civs total.

Hit me with ideas; I like this project idea.

Well first of all, I think you should decide why WWIII would happen, and from there pick the nations and who should be with who.

How about this for a story line? The US withdraws from Iraq, then the Arab Legue votes to merge into one nation, inviting none arab islamic nations so join. The EU allows Turkey to join it. Terrorists from other nations invade Turkey in anger (barbs), China has taken over most of Asia bring it into Communist rule. South east Asia seeing the threat of China and the new Islamic Union joins together.
Russia seeing the Rapidness of Eastern Europeans nations join the EU, provides them with proection and technology. Qubec decllarec it self free from Canada. Results in a war. America Takes Qubecs side, warns Canada to not attack.

This most likey wont work at all but just an idea

I think mazzz' story line is good enough, but might need a little bit more tweaks to it.

The countries are similar to mine, so I don't see much of a problem there. I like it, in fact

Indian Union should be India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan. Not sure to add Bangladesh to Indian union or to Islamic league.
Does it make sense for the stans of former USSR to be islamic union? I have heard the there is a large Athiest propulation there. Also Uzbekistan is giving the US a military base there, it would seem highly unlikely that they would turn on the US.

Indonesia should be part of the Islamic U since I can bet that although its thriving as a economic tiger of Asia, more and more fundementalists are gaining support and the large islamic population might eventually turn against Indonesia. Tell me if I'm insane on this. ASEAN could be for Southeast Asia.

Well, if you include that many civs...the game will be totally unplayable for those without a Nasa supercomputer...and that'll make the game rather pointless...except as a fun learning experience for the creators.

My suggestion?

1) The West (USA, Anglo-Saxon Commonwealth, EU, Norway, Swizerland, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Japan)
2) Latin America
3) Former USSR
4) Islam
5) Sub-Saharan Africa
6) China (Including Indo-China and N.Korea)
7) India (including Burma, Nepal, and Sri Lanka)

Quebec has no way of legally leaving Canada. It needs the approval of something like 9 out of 10 provinces and a certain percentage of the population. Even if they did manage to seperate, I don't think anyone besides maybe French nations would recognize it.

Not really so. USA hates North Korea, but the South Koreans are trying to go through a peaceful route with the North Koreans, and many agreements have already been made.

I dont think so, south koreans dont get along with north koreans. I asked many of my korean friends about there feelings. most of them feel sorry for the people, but fear and dont trust the goverment. North Korea and South Korea are worste that taiwan and china. I think the only way they would fight together is if there was a big threat to both.

I don't really think having a the west is a good idea... Because:

Europe is independent from USA and may not choose to declare war on a country just because USA does so. Also, Latin America is part the west...

Latin America all together really wouldn't make sense... because their division is one of the reasons they're weaker... IMHO there should be separated Brazil, Mexico and Argentina.

Sub-saharan Africa... their division is important to their weakness too... maybe you should divide that between central africa and a south african union(South Africa, Namibia, etc.).

India should have Bangladesh too... although they are indian muslims, they have a better relationship with India rather than Pakistan. They would never join in an islamic union with Pakistan.

Also, about the islamic union, for me atleast, it should be divided into three parts: African Islam(Nigeria, Sudan, Egypt, Argelia, Morocco, Tunis and perhaps some other country), Middle Eastern Islam(Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Yemen, and something I might be missing) and finally Asian Islam(Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, and etc.).

And I think instead of Japan being part of 'the west' it should have it's own union(with south korea, taiwan, etc.)

As a last note, please try to get a good map in which Brazil is bigger than USA without Alaska, which is the reality. All the maps I've seen in these forums have the north hemisphere too big, and unproportional to south hemisphere.
