    Definately oil.

The screenshot is from the ancient age. Even if they had decided to put back pollution, it would not be from the ancient age.

That's either tar pollution, oil resource or molten Africans.

If it is ancient age, and therefore cannot be oil, ... but it IS oil.
    Then WHAT?!

    Then it isn't Civ3? Good!
Then they are displaying things in debug mode? That's okay.

Oil was known to exist in the ancient age, and used in tar.

@Trajan: Didn't we determine that that might have been emeralds?

Except that I don't think gems are listed in the set of known luxury resources.

Soren appeared on another thread saying these early appearances of resources are debug mode.

It's really bad graphics for oil. That is, if it's oil of course. Maybe some seals melted in the sun.

MIGHT have been emeralds. It was glowing just a little too much for emeralds though. I'd still say Uranium.

But it could be emeralds, maybe... but what will Uranium look like? So many questions, so few answers. :)
