Has Firaxis released all of the names of the civilizations in Play the World? If they haven't, I think the Polynesians would be a great civilization to have. Their UU could be a canoe that would be able to go anywhere (hell, they came to Hawai'i, and that sure as hell isn't smooth sailing) and their two traits could be Religious and Expansionist. There are tons of cities to be named after and Kamehameha could be the leader. Anybody else like that idea?

I have always been intrigued by this culture and usually vote for them in the various polls that come around. The assessment of Polynesians' cultural contributions has traditionally suffered from the fact that they didn't leave massive literary records of their accomplishments, but any civilization that can navigate the entire Pacific while Europeans were still being impressed with getting from Sicily to Egypt without sinking deserves a place in this game.

jpowers: but then (which would be a wonderfull gift for me) Firaxis would have to fix all naval aspects in this game - and somehow i think they won't. :(

Yeah, I'd like to see the polynesians in PTW. I have always been attracted to their culture, and all Civ versions lack from a civilization from Oceania.

I remember adding them in Civ II, but when I was playing with another civ in the Earth map, they could only build a couple of cities in 2000 years

Yeah, but there are far more influential civilizations than the Koreans too, yet they're in Play the World. Think about it, it would be perfect! They're UU could be a non-sinking galley (canoe) which would be great for sea-people. Lt., why would they have to fix all naval aspects of the game? Just add a non-sinking galley, that's all.
