Arg, Is there a program out there that can block these annoying pop-up ads. Suddenly I keep getting them every second when I close them. Is there a way to eliminate them without replacing my current browser since MSN requires IE to run.

When you close a window? Maybe you have spyware? Download Ad-Aware or Spybot and scan your computer.

Download the following for FREE:

Mozilla Firefox - web brower with built in pop-up blocker
http://texturizer.net/firefox/download.html

AdAware - spyware remover
http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/

ZoneAlarm - groovy firewall

If you have to keep using IE then don't download or even click on anything that claims to either a)Make the internet faster b)Improve you browser with a special search bar or c)Get you free porn :p

The Google toolbar has a pop-up blocker.

Bah, Netscape takes care of it quite nicely ;)

Mozilla all the way!!! I have had 1 Pop-up in the like 4 months I have had it. I love it!!!

Popups?

Those silly screens that come up, advertising stuff. If you have Internet Exploder, then you must have experienced them. If you are smart, and have something else (Netscape, Mozilla, Opera, etc.), then you may never have experienced them. If so, lucky you!!!

And ya, they literally "Pop up", at the most inconvenient time . . .

I have Pop-up Stopper. Although, it WILL block popups that you want to see (i.e., clicking on a link that creates a pop-up window)

CIVGeneral, also just some tips, this will not stop pop ups from specific sites that u visit, but it works well against random ones. Keep your temporary internet folder empty, try not to let cookies build up otherwise you get more and more cookies and pop ups building up which often download adware into your computer bringing more pop up ads. Also to remove adware related pop ups get adaware and use that often.

I recently downloaded Mozilla, and from a Pop-Up perspective, I have no complaints at all. It has the handy option of playing a WAV file every time a pop-up is blocked, so that I know whether or not I'm at a site where the pop-up might actually be helpful or necessary.

BTW, my WAV of choice for that purpose happens to be C-3PO saying "PLEASE don't deactivate me!"
