Apparently Portal 1 is free on Steam right now, although I do not know for how long (it has been free for a limited time before). So yeah, if you (somehow) haven't bought it yet go get it. Now.

I still have a free copy I haven't been able to give away from pre-purchasing Portal 2 :p

Cool, never got around to play this.
Downloading now.

I just use the steam browser.
Searched for portal and clicked install, it's automatically registered to my account.

"A lovely bit of news from RPS this morning. If you don’t already own it, you can download Portal for nothing on Steam. It’s being made free to download until September 20. If you download it before then, you’ll own it forever.

It’s all part of Valve’s Learn With Portals initiative, which aims to promote Portal’s reality bending puzzles as an educational tool, and hopes to encourage the next generation to start building a new wave of even more dastardly test chambers. You can see our future tormentors learning the basics at Valve HQ in the video above. You can build your own levels with the free Portal authoring tools, which you’ll find the “tools” section of your Steam library."

"free videogame promotes communism to pre-school children!"

the algerian says:
"our special guest tonight, doctor watsizname, doctor, what do you think about this video game?"

"this video game, encourages strong, ruthless brutality toward walls, and it should be forbidden, i don't know what this stupid democrat president is doing, but it seems like he's going to let it slide".

lol .

Awesome, thanks for the tip. :goodjob: Just 'bought' it and will download it later. I don't own any other games other than Civ, but this is too good to pass up.

Downloaded, played, got addicted and completed the game in 1½ hours. A great game, although my friend began to wonder what I was doing as I didn't answer to him in Steam's chat.

I've solved puzzles like that before. :smug:

(Plus that I and my brother were playing it at the same time, but that doesn't matter, now does it? :mischief:)

How the hell did you complete it in 1.5 hours? You must have really rushed through it, since it should take at least 2 hours if not closer to three.

I can do it in about an hour :p
