Portal 2 announced!

Episode 3 and eventually Half Life 3 will happen, without a doubt, assuming Valve don't go under in the near future which they probably won't.

Anyway Portal 2! Yay!

Methos, do you already have Half Life 2? If not, then look out for a Valve game bundle on Steam called The Orange Box--it's five games/exps total, best PC deal ever when it came out a few years ago. Included were Portal, HL2, HL2 Ep 1, HL2 Ep 2, Team Fortress (HL multi-play).

Portal is pretty unique, plus the 'bad guy' is very funny in a black humor way. I'm not into shooters, but HL2 is a beautiful game just to play thru for the experience. There are some truly memorable passages. So Orange Box was a great deal at full price imo, and should be cheaper now ~3 years later.

Cost-benefit analysis: excellent!

Definitely recommend that anyone who hasn't played Portal give it a go, it's a fantastic game.

I haven't checked it out yet (getting ready too), but I'm guessing the free offer of Portal is due to the release of Steam for Mac. Yes, I'm definitely getting Portal.

Thats probably the most likely reason why, but also probably a bit of hype building for Portal 2. Get a bunch of people to love the original at no cost to them, and potentially increase sales for the sequel.
