Portuguese Colonial War: Angola 1961-74

If you make another version of this scenario, I recommend that , in order to re-create the history, you could split the independists into more factions:
- MPLA
- Cabinda
- UNITA

They could all be at a fixed war with Portugal, but there could be war among them.

In order to compensate for this split, I would recommend maybe making Portugal a little bit weaker.

Hi Krazydude,

You are killing me here! I downloaded the scenario again, installed it in "...\Conquests\Conquests" and loaded it up from Civ-Content and I still got the missing "text\PediaIcons.txt ICON_BLDG_Battlefield_Medics"!!!!! The game exits and still no playing.

What can I do?? I only downloaded the main file. Do I need to re-download the maps???

Also, if you did do another version, rather than Cabinda, I would use FNLA. Just a thought. Maybe a cool idea would be "The Border War" of Southern Africa from 1975-1989, involving Angola under MPLA control, South Africa, South West Africa (modern Namibia and SWAPO there), and then other period activities, such as ZANU-PF in Rhodesia and ANC activity in SA. I'd be willing to help in some capacity. Good luck, and thanks in advance for figuring out what that problem is that I have been having regarding this scenario.

Imperialist: I don't know what the problem is :( I installed it myself from scratch and had no problem at all. I went to check PediaIcons.txt and that entry is ok.

Make sure you installed the scenario correctly, and you have Scenarios\Colonial War\Text\Pedia Icons.txt.

It could be a problem with the scenario folder name, it must be "Colonial War" and not "Colonial_War".

Thank you for your ideas regarding possible new scenarios: Maybe I'll make new versions of this one, including the various rebel factions. If I do that, I'll certainly appreciate your help.

Please tell me if you got the scenario working.

Hi Krazydude, I got it working. My problem was that when I originally downloaded the files, they did not create a "Colonial War" folder and were instead just sitting in the Scenarios folder. So I just created the folder and put the Art and Text files in there and it worked fine. Thanks for your help! Great scenario (even though I only played it for 5 minutes or so) and I look forward to playing it more and helping in the future.

a piece of our history, great job krazydude

This is kind of strange... When the scenario was not available for download, lots of people complained in here, I'm not blaming them... It's just that now that the scenario IS available, only a few users said something about it...

As the file has about 70 downloads since I uploaded the second time, I just would like some criticism from those who tried it. Maybe I'm asking too much...

This is a bit old, but I'll still answer: you have to install it in Conquests\Scenario\ folder.

Krazydude, did u make any of the discussed changes or is still the same version?

I want to download the main file BUT i cant. first time it said 15secs wait and 1MB into download it said finished and the data was corrupt (of course).
