Poser Prop Compatibility

No, they will not. The props can be adjusted so they will work at civ scale, but the clothing will not fit at all. Clothing is (generally speaking) conforming, which means it uses certain specific items of the figure to figure out scale and location through out the characters movement. The bits it uses are the joint info and the verticies (connecting points) of the meshes. If you change either of these the clothing will not conform. Changing things like scale does not matter, as the clothing will scale with the little dude.
Micheal 1 & 2 use the same stuff, Micheal 3 is not a tweaked version of M2 but a completely new character.

Hi Bjornlo, I don't suppose you would know where I could pick up a Michael 1 or 2 base character for free? I found Michael 3 for free. So far no luck with Michael 1. :(

Will Michael 1 & 2 props, clothing, etc. fit Michael 3? Does anyone know?

Many thanks. :)

Actually, there is a figure in the Michael 3 download named "Mike 3 to Mike 2" which handles M2 and even some M1 figures well. For example, my WWII paratrooper was made with the US paratrooper clothing located here with this M3 figure. A good rule of thumb when using clothing (for any character) is to make the body parts of the base character invisible, wherever the clothing covers him. On a side note, props for any character (like hats, helmets) will generally work on most other characters, with a little resizing.

Or u could get the program called Crossdresser for free and buy the right licences for 10$ each. The program will convert any cloths u wish to fit any figure u have the licenes for.

I may just end up purchasing Michael 2. I saw him on the DAZ web site for something like $20+. I joined Poser World (3 month membership, the cheapest they had) and downloaded just about every interesting thing I could find for any of the Michaels so I have a lot of stuff on my hard drive already for Michaels 1/2.

If u join the the Daz PC u'll get him plus other stuff in a free package.

Gary, I'm telling you, you can use M1 & 2 clothes on M3. Don't waste the money on old figures.

I think they give him to you if you join the Daz web site and their discount club (not as good a deal as Poserworld). But, you might want to check if your copy of M3 includes the m3 -> m2 figure that NavyDawg is talking about. This would in effect give you M2 right there. I have that figure too, but I have not used it and so did not think about it. I might be mistaken, but I did not recall him being in the free pack but in an evetual free download at Daz3d.
Crossdresser is a mixed bag. I tried an older version of it and was not too impressed. It was harder to get Crossdresser clothing to behave right than it was to make my own.

Cool. Thanks NavyDawg, I'll check into it when my Poser arrives. I downloaded the free Michael 3 so I hope the conversion capacity is there just the same. :)

I downloaded the free M3 a while ago (maybe a year or more). That conversion figure should hopefully be in there.:)

I do not believe M1 or M2 are available now because M3 takes their Place in all ways.

Both M1 and M2 are still available (even though they are nearly identical). But, if the conversion figure that NavyDawg mentioned is included in the free m3 package they are not needed.

LOL! Now I'm just twiddling my thumbs until Poser gets here. I think BadKharma is right. I should have gotten the digital download.

..Exactly the point.

Way cool! I've checked out the Michael 3 package I downloaded and it looks like the conversion Mike is there. I reactivated another 30 day trial to check the files.
