I've been toying the the back of my head about making the game more unique to each civilization. One idea I have come up with will be a massive undertaking, but here goes.
I'm thinking about possibly making UNIQUE versions of every unit and building for every civilization.
These buildings and units would vary in small ways from the standard units, but would provide just a little difference.
For example, a British rifleman might have a slightly higher defense value (think Rorkes drift), while their Barracks building might be called a Lines (think Stirling Lines, home of the SAS).
Any ideas on this ?
Ok, I've done some work and this is what I have come up with so far.
England
Buckingham Palace (+1 additional culture, replaces Palace)
English Docks (+15 XP Sea Units, +1 Gold per sea tile, replaces Seaport)
English Stable (+20% build mounted units, +5 XP mounted units, replaces Stable)
English Watermill (+1 Food, +5% production, replaces Watermill)
Travelling Fair (+3 Happiness, +2 Maintenance, replaces Circus)
Ironmonger (Costs more to build, +20% Unit production, replaces Forge)
English Windmill (Can be built anywhere, no specialist slots, replaces Windmill)
English Hydro Plant (Higher Maintenance, can be built on Fresh Water (River or Lake), replaces Hydro Plant)
English Solar Plant (+20% production, can only be built on Cities not built on hills, replaces Solar Plant)
Bank of England (+4 Gold from Gold/Silver tiles in City radius, +1 Culture, replaces Bank)
English Observatory (Higher Maintenace, +75% Production, replaces Observatory)
