i dont really think there are many trade options at the moment but praps we could look at the japanese option

The table does lay out our current possibilities very well. What's missing is the fact that the English have mysticism and horseback riding and we don't. We don't have enough to offer them. That's why I suggested we sell iron working or alphabet to the Japanese for their 81 gold. Then we could check to see if Liz would sell us either of those two techs. If not we'd still have the Japanese gold - which is more than enough for two warrior to swordsman upgrades.
