Possible workaround on v1.52

By changing the config file to the following, Civ4 plays in a windowed enviroment.(at least two hours, and still going with no errors yet)

Trying to play in full windowed gets me the same errors.

Hope it works for you. (and maybe this will give the real brains another area to look into)

Well, it worked for 2 hours and 10 minutes, then same error,
