My tech tree goes all the way back to the dawn of civilization (but the post wars had an extremely fast advance rate, I was still at the dawn when everyone else was in the equivalent of the early 20th century)...

I have two (or three wonders)...

Chronosphere... Comes with Space Time Distortion (maybe a better name can be used for the tech?)... Puts an airport in every city?
Space Elevator... Comes with Carbon Nanotubes... Like the Apollo Programme...
A third possible wonder would be like the Great Library that only the wolves can build... Comes with the Contact event...

A few facts about wonders in Civ2:
- Wonder effects can't be changed
- There are no Small Wonders in Civ2, meaning that no wonder can be built more than once in the entire world.

That means that the Chronosphere will be impossible to include. It also means that no other faction can build anything equivalent to the Apollo Program if the Lyconians have it.

Putting that aside I wonder what use you will get from the Apollo Program anyway if spaceship victory isn't enabled...

I'm sorry, but that's the way it is as long as we don't have the source code.

Oh, ok... remove the Chronosphere (and it's tech)... I'm not sure how to do the Space Elevator...

What do you want the Space Elevator to do?

It's the way my faction entered space... I guess it's not important...

If it's important or not depends on the victory condition we set for the scenario. IIRC we never agreed on one.

I know the tech Carbon Nanotubes will still have to be there (to be stolen by the Towelites to build their strengthened tunnels)...

Kinda interesting how it's mostly the two of us who discuss. That's how it is when most of the other guys live on another continent...

Hmm... I think "contact with Volovgrad" might be a victory condition (but I don't know how that would work)...

Maybe creating a unit called "Volovgrad Contact Device" somewhere on the map and having the first one to find it (attack and destroy it) win.

Wouldn't that quickly end the game, unless an event makes it appear?

It could be placed via an event. Somebody invents the last tech on their tech tree, and the unit is placed. It should be placed in a different spot for each faction.

Another victory condition could be building the Space Program wonder. It should be pretty high up on the tech tree and be very expensive. By building the Space Program your faction gains an immense advantage over the other factions when it comes to colonize space, which makes your faction conquer all the other factions sooner or later.

But there's one victory condition that really should be there: Defeat all the other factions.

If conquest is enabled then it might change my tech tree because it has techs that need Franch unification, unless the event could be there under a different name, as the Leader did become the alpha when the alpha pair disappeared...

Can an event change the terrain?

Yes, an event can change terrain (it also kills all units in the effected area).

A meteor event could be added that floods certain areas...

Yes, you just change the terrain from whatever it was before the event to whatever the terrain was before the event. (At least that's how I understand it.)
