Post War Mod(s)

Because PW2 starts in the industrial age.

@Yuri
I was just expecting someone to point out the Giant death robot tech. But here's an improved tech tree:
i wanna play with the giant death robots!!! :yeah: :borg: :borg: :nya:

You can add them to your own faction if you join the Post Wars. And maybe I could add the GDRs anyway. Their prerequisites could be "Computerized society" and "Advanced encryption algorithms". The only problem is that GDRs have never even been mentioned in the Post Wars. I only put them in at first to see if someone reacted.

Yes, so put them in your tech tree. It would also be great if everybody who has a faction would include how their tech trees branch off the main one. (I'll see if I can find some time to do mine.)

Anyway, I've made a progress plan. I plan to make three beta versions before we start playtesting. Here's how I've laid it out:

Beta 1:
- All faction profiles and tech trees are done
- Possibly a few units done.
- The underground map done.

Beta 2:
- All units done.
- All terrain graphics done.
- All other graphics done.

Beta 3:
- City and unit placement done.
- Events scripting done.
- Ready for playtesting.

Final release:
- All playtesting done.
- All tweaking done.
- The finished scenario.

I changed my tech tree:

I'm wondering why you have the event "Franch Collapse" in your tech tree. This scenario covers all of PW2 and PW3 until space colonization by the Franch and the Zeonian starts fully. The Fall of the Franch happened long after the Franch War of Unity which happened when the Franch had already colonized a few dozen planets. This also excludes the events Franch Unification and Wolf Hunting and all of the techs and events which depend on that.

If you didn't know this, it's probably my fault for not being totally clear. I know that "early PW3" can be a little misleading. But you have made your tech tree, which does not hold true for most others.

@CH
Yes, I can do that.

PE's scenario contains the PluEmp tech tree, so I consider that done. (It needs a few modifications though, since it's based upon the main Civ2 tech tree. I hope it's OK for PE.)

Anyway I've finally gotten around to make an updated version of the Franch tech tree:

I look forward to seeing the modifications ;) :goodjob: :king: :D

I figured out that myself, since I couldn't get the cd command to work. But now I've tested it by hooking the "/d" on it, and it works! In Win98 I don't have to do that, that's why I was confused. (The paths in the screenie were only made for test purposes.)
I'm not entirely sure what you mean, since you can't use cd to switch drives like that in Windows 98, either. In my previous post, I was just showing you a way that you could get cd to work using XP. Unlike 98, XP's /d switch allows you to switch drives with the cd command.

When you pointed out that guide in your post, I remembered that I actually have read that guide. But it only says that you should get an XP Powertoy called "CmdHere", and nothing about the "/d".
All three of the methods that I'd listed were valid for Windows XP. Really, your only problem was that on your main XP machine, you have CivConverter located on a different drive to your operating system. The example I used in my guide was a simple one that didn't require any drive switching. However, thanks to your feedback I've rewritten that section. :goodjob:

I guess you learn something new every day. I've just tried it, and found that I don't need to hook the "/d" when I wanted to switch drives on my C: (Windows) drive. I didn't have that problem on my laptop as there I only have one drive with only one partition. But that "/d" tip was really helpful anyway, as I have the files on my E: drive. And I've found that CmdHere utility to be helpful as well. Hopefully this post cleared things up for you.

And thanks again! You always seem to be helpful in some way.

Joeb suggested I post some squids I'd made here, but it won't let me. I have posted them over on the Units thread of this site, though.

Well, as I said, there won't be any new release until all the tech trees are up (I still haven't heard from Zeon). I will only release the Betas I mentioned in an earlier post. But if there's an interest in a last alpha including the main tech tree, please say so and if there's interest enough, I'll make one. Just to make sure you know I'm still in for the "coding".
