War breaks out when Argentina fails at an attempt to storm Morocco and cut off Mediterranean trade. This leads into a heated naval war in the Atlantic as the United States rushes to gain naval superiority while preparing for a land invasion of Mexico.
After the declaration of war, the Mexican-American War begins with Mexico moving into Arizona. After some airship attacks, it weakened the force. Overall three infantry were lost taking out their forces there.
Just then, with the election between Woodrow Wilson (that handsome man you see as my avatar), Taft, and Theodore Roosevelt was very close. However, Wilson had enough influence through the government to convince the powers in charge not to rehold an election; thus winning and becoming the president during the most radical times in American history. Flight was being discovered, oil was being drilled, Africa was being colonized, war with Argentina and Mexico, railroads connecting the east and west coast, and a move towards imperialism.
Meanwhile in Africa, the Zulus hold their largest attack yet, mounting three units of Pombos to attack at once.
Woodrow Wilson's first order: the invasion of the Dominican Republic. This was difficult as the Argentines had naval superiority in the Mexican Gulf at this point.
Wilson assumed better relations with Colombia could be improved by giving them railroad equipment. But somehow, this led to their immediate collapse and decline into anarchy and destruction.
After a defeat of the Argentine navy by some ironclads, peace was drawn up and an alliance was signed once again.
Then, Daniel Plainview founds the first oil well in the United States.
Meanwhile, the Mexican-American War was beginning to look better. The beginning of the war looked grim as more American infantry were lost against the more populous, less technologically advanced Mexican cavalry and riflemen. Their cavalry would run into the center of the United States disrupting railroads and capturing workers, and America would scramble to try and defeat the superior cavalry with airships and a couple units of infantry. However, with the invent of the fighter plane, and the American army beginning to pick up in numbers, Tijuana was eventually captured and burned to the ground.
The Suez Canal was constructed.
Two things happened during the same year. The Battle of Houston, which had 6 fighter planes bomb Houston before over 16 units clashed between the Americans and Mexico, and the Mexican senate began falling apart. These two things would lead to Mexico's collapse, leaving America with undeniable superiority in the world. Now their outlook is to secure it by creating military bases in South America, and around the world. Wilson goes down as the most important president since Washington.
The year is now 1919. Wilson's reelection looks undeniable (as there was not the 2 term law back then). His policy is to create unshakable control over South America through conquest of strategic bases. To reconstruct Mexico as a satellite state as the United States (so they will not come back stronger). To settle colonies in key parts of the Old World. And, with the invent of the United Nations, grant independence to dependent nations of native ethnicities around the world to be used as manipulation in the United Nations to have more power with less governing and bureaucracy.
