Am I correct in calculations for performance of workshop vs windmill.

First thing as I understand all hammers' multipliers are cumulative: forge +25%, factory +25%, power +50%.

So total +100%H?

Watermill on plain river with everything on is extra +1F, +2C, +2H. Hammers multiplied by forge / factory / power to total +4H. Total: +1F+2C+4H. Food is half of specialist, it is extra 1H (engineer divided by 2) and multiplied by 100% of forge / factory / power gives +2H, so it is +2H+2C+4H = +8B

Workshop on plain river with everything on is extra +4H. Hammers multiplied by forge / factory / power to total +8H =+8B.

So result is the same.

The difference is that Guilds and Chemistry are a bit earlier than Electricity.

So in theory after Guilds (and Castle System civic) it is better to go with workshops than with watermill except that lack of food is limiting factor until Communism / State Property civic.

Also forget to add +10%H with State Property.

I personally prefer watermills over riverside workshops, even before Electricity. The +1:food:, especially in the early industrial era where every city is choking in unhealth, is worth more to me than the +2:hammers: I'd get from a workshop. That said in terms of efficiency I'm pretty sure a combination of (Biology) farms and workshops is better, since that's maximum food or maximum hammers depending on what you need.
