Power for a Day

Despite the fact you can only have the power for one day, I believe I have spotted a loophole.
My power would be, that whatever you tell people on that day, they will obey it and continue to act on it for the rest of their life.
So I would give orders on the day, or a set of rules like the ten commandments, and the challenge would be to get the message out to as many people as possible.
OK, it's still only for one day, but you could make a difference
e.g.: Take me to the BBC, film me and broadcast it on tv and radio every day etc., the people who saw it on the day in question would never kill anyone again/ abandon greed/ give me a tithe of their annual salary/ etc.
That would be my power - you could make it so people would obey you forever, if they heard you on the day in question.

I always fancied being able to make machines do my bidding. I know its a bit close to the jedi power thing but I reckon it's subtle enough to allow your life to continue pretty much as it is but without all the crap things that happen to you and with a few nice tweeks to make things interesting.

For example, you're in the pub and short of cash, etc - the bandit automatically pays you the jackpot, the fag machine dispenses to your hearts content and the clock on the wall always reads 30 mins to last orders, thus preserving the "get em down ya quick" approach to drinking usually prevalent at that time.

Otherwise, there are a thousand and one uses - cash machines spit out whatever you need, lottery-draw machine leaves you the sole winner every week, you arrive at the check in desk at your local airport to find the computer printing out a club-class ticket to Rio (or wherever you wish to go), your PC produces endless amounts of top-grade porn just by turning it on (and not after searching for AGES), well I could go on but you get the picture.

I dont like the Jedi one as it involves a certain amount of manipulation of others, which is a bit unpleasant if you've got to live with it forever. Whereas machines - I hate them!
