What do rappresent the power graph in the info screen?
How does the power graph work in this game?

It's a bit misleading to say it's all about soldiers. Barracks, Walls and other military buildings also factor in, is as well as the number and strength of your units.

As to "how it works", the higher your power shows, the less likely you are to be attacked for no obvious reason. Except by Montezuma or Shaka, that is.

Do walls, castles, bomb shelters, etc count?

Read the post Krazula linked; it lists everything that counts and how much it counts.

That article doesn't necessarily have anything to do with the power graph though. It's all about the main demographics screen where all the info about your civ is listed. The graphs work somewhat differently as I understand it, especially the Power one.

The link describes in great detail how the Power graph is obtained, thats what most of the article does

The Power graph represents each player's Power rating from each turn. The "soldiers" demographic is simply your Power rating * 1000. I.e., they're the same thing.

Power graph analysis can be thought of as a lossless compression algorithm for graphs. It extends graph syntax with representations of cliques, bicliques and stars. Compression levels of up to 95% have been obtained for complex biological networks.Hypergraphs are a generalization of graphs in which edges are not just couples of nodes but arbitrary n-tuples. Power Graphs are not another generalization of graphs, but instead a novel representation of graphs that proposes a shift from the "node and edge" language to an using cliques, bicliques and stars as primitives.

Good old Wikipedia ;) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_graph_analysis I don't think Civ4's power graph attempts anything as complicated as that. Although my mathematical knowledge isn't as good as I would like so I am willing to stand corrected.

Posting something from wikipedia is daft.
Posting something from wikipedia and pretending they're your words is dafter.
Posting something from wikipedia and pretending they're your words when they have nothing to do with the subject being discussed is totally ridiculous :p
