Baron - there is a workaround by using the scenario editor:
  1. Open scenario editor
  2. Under 'Scenario' Menu - select Custom Rules
  3. Under 'Rules' Menu - select Edit rules...
  4. Click on the 'Civilizations' tab and select the Civ you want to play with from the pulldown.
  5. Change the title and name under the Leader box
  6. Rename & Save your 'scenario' to the scenario subfolder
  7. Play game using the 'Load Scenario' option and select the scenario you created.
  8. PowerBar will work because the Leader name is the 'default' from the rules... ;)

will power bar work with the mod called "double your pleasure"? I'd really like to try this mod as it sounds like it adds a great deal of detail to the game. I found it on this forum and on this website:

Yes, PowerBar works with mods! I have used it with DYP and Fantasy Empires...I know of a couple of modders who use it to speed up testing... :D
 
I am still recieving the Multiplayer Error - is it because I have downloaded a government mod?
 
I have uninstalled both the government and double your pleasure mods and still recieve the problem.

I am in the UK and can therefore not get the new 2.1 update for PtW - could this be anything? If so, can Europeans get 1.4 - maybe this would work?
 
Lol, found 1.14 patch for UK. Now I get a new message -
"Incorrect Memory Offset for TILE_ARRAY-_POINTER
-Unable to load game data. Check patch compatability."

Can anyone help with this one? Thanks.

The latest version of PowerBar (3.5 beta) is compatible with 1.14 patch. The first splash screen has a checkbox for which PTW version you are using. Just click next to PTW 1.14f before pressing the continue button. It should be compatible with any mods.
 
I've got the v1.21f of civ3, havn't gotten the expansion yet.

Anyway i noticed that powerbar v3.5b seems to crash and lock up my com whenever i try to use it to complete producing something WHILE in the city screen.

One time it even corrupted my civ3 files. I think that was when i tried to use either a)the satalite map function or b)the clear pulltion function (i forget); also in the city screen. After i restarted my com and reloaded from the autosave, the whole map was filled with black tiles seemingly randomly placed throughout the map. The problem seemed to lie with corrupted files as i loaded other games previous to my last save, other concurrent games, and even started new games but the black tiles were still there no matter what. In the end i had to uninstall and reinstaill the game and apply the game patch again.

System info if you need it.
Game version : Civ3 v1.29f
OS : Windows XP
Ram : 256mb

Btw i was running winamp in the background. But i don't think that had anything to do with the crash.

If this is some sort of bug, i hope you can figure out the problem and fix it so that other users don't have to suffer the same fate as me. Other than the "city screen" bug i find the powerbar quite useful. thanx for the great proggy!
 
Meander: Simple solution-- Don't activate any of the PowerBar functions unless you're on the main map screen. I'm actually using it on PtW v1.21, which may or may not make a difference, but I've only clicked any PB buttons while on the main map screen, and I've never had a problem. My guess is that not meant to be used while on other screens anyhow...SpiderZord, could you confirm that? Oh, and SpiderZord (and CrusaderJoe, of course), this is an awesome utility, and i really appreciate all the work you've put into it. Keep up the good work! Oh, btw, i have a question of my own...When I first start the program, load a save, and load the data into PB, do I need to manually go to each city (via the dropdown selection window) and check the automatic finish production box, or is there a faster way to do it? It kind of gets annoying, when you've got like 20 cities and have to go and set each one...
 
Ah thanks...I forgot most of what was mentioned in the documentation (I vaguely remember reading that, among other things), otherwise I wouldn't have asked such a stupid question...I'll have to read it all again.
 
I am having a problem with v3.5. I followed all of the directions regarding shutting down other prgrm and leadernames (no customs) and I still get the "Multiplayer Mode Detected" error. Any advice? :cry:

Sorry mate, I get exactly the same error message...

I run CivIII PTW 1.14f (UK patch) under WinMe, with all the latest drivers (PC built mainly for heavy graphics use, so pretty much top specs), and nothing running during gameplay but the game.
 
Yes.. error messages are gone when i use PB35! I only install all the necessary dll's and its run smoothly now.

btw is there a possibility that all resources are revealed even if you dont have its science?

and also how can i make certain units only to be SU?
 
No. I have had the same problem from day 1 and have yet to get a good answer to the problem. It will not run correctly for a PTW as of .99. 99.1 will export map data, but you can't import. Somehow I need to be able to export a map (for corrections) and then return it to the scenario setup.
