I've removed left/right synonyms from my vocabulary. Instead I just use words like progressive.

For example:
If Sultan is an advocate for environmental protection, he is progressive.
If John Doe wants to burn minorities, he is not progressive.

Actually, both sides seem to be behaving very well as of late.

I think there was a rash of protest postings from the most frustrating of the group, who have been banned, disapeared, or cooled off over the last few weeks.

Its been a paradise to post in recently. Jinx.
