So I broke down and just purchased it for 47.99 at Green man. I got sent two keys. Now my question is this...

I am at work. I can log into steam on the internet levl, can or should I add my keys there or wait till I get home and add them locally to my pc at home via steam there..(I do not have steam installed at work PC)

You'd just be adding them to your account's library, so you can do that anywhere. Either way, there's no hurry.

<edit> Come to think of it, I'm not sure if you can add the files just through the website, or if you need to install steam. </edit>

I'm at home and I checked the webpage - the library is missing on the page - I dunno but I guess you wouldn't be able to enter those steamkeys there without installing the client. Just wait until you're at home...

It's not official seller. That is why.

It's an official seller, so that's not the reason.

Not sure which is, but there's little point nowadays in paying full price for AAA releases.

OK, if this is the case, then this is a little manipulation to direct people to get it over there so that they think they can buy it cheaper while this is the real price they want actually charge for the game. It's an old marketing trick.

Or basically they decided to make less money per copy, which can actually give them more money overall because more people will buy the game at this price, obviously. Another marketing trick, which should make them sell more copies.

Steam is THE big giant so they know they can sell the game over-priced (at so called normal price) and plenty of compulsive buyers will still buy it.
Smaller shops need to sell at the real price (with so called "VIP discount" on GMG or any other nonsense) to survive.
Simple as that.

And yes, GMG is an official reseller for 2K. You might have troubles with games from other publishers as they might have to buy keys to an official reseller and wait for them but they get their keys directly from 2K for their games.

Curses you Lord Shadow! I missed that ! GRRR

but..

now I own Civ VI in preorder form.."Let us rampage with our Aztecs..all shall drown in lakes of blood!"
