Pre-turn 49 research queue!

We will have philosophy next turn. We may or may not get a free tech. In any event it makes sense to set our research queue. I think we have a consensus that republic is our main goal at this point. The question is do we want literacy (and the ability to build libraries) first? So the poll question is:

What should our research queue be after learning philosophy?

I like the idea of if we get the free tech CoL and Lit otherwise.

So therefore you would set it for CoL and if we don't get the free tech change it to Lit.

I was going to say exactly the same thing as dl123654, and that option isn't up there.

I.e. set it to CoL, which is more expensive than Lit. If we get it then great, then choose Lit next. If we don't, then switch to Lit in any case.

In that case I agree with you, absolutely no reason not to pick Lit as free. Too bad I can't change my vote.

I checked in CAII, and yeah CoL and Lit both show as 300 beakers in cost.
So, I'm casting my vote for Lit, CoL, Republic.
(If found to be otherwise for some reason, then obviously get the more expensive tech for free)
